Luiz: We’re in it to win

David Luiz has assured the media and fans alike that Chelsea are keen for success in the Europa League.

The Blues, who lifted the Champions League trophy last May, are in Romania for the first leg of their last sixteen tie, and ahead of the game Luiz has insisted the club have the hunger to go all the way in the competition.

Rafael Benitez has said that he will pick a “competitive” side for the game, though Demba Ba is ineligible having already represented Newcastle United in the competition this season.

Victor Moses has not travelled, while Yossi Benayoun and Oriel Romeu are still out injured.

Meanwhile, it appears that Benayoun will leave the club at the end of the season, having fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The Israeli midfielder has started just one league game since joining the Blues back in 2010, and has had loan spells at Arsenal and previous club West Ham United.

Elsewhere, the Telegraph report that Chelsea will battle with Manchester City for the signature of Spanish wonderkid Isco.

The 20 year old midfielder has scored eight goals for Malaga in La Liga this season, and won his first full international cap in the 3-1 victory over Uruguay last month.
