LEICESTER, CHELSEA AND UNITED TO FIGHT TILL FINAL DAY

Jamie Vardy delivered as expected against Arsenal to take a point in the hard-fought clash on Tuesday. Chelsea had to rely on Kurt Zouma’s final minute clearance to take three points against Crystal Palace to keep their Champions League hopes alive. These results mean the fight for Top Four will continue until the final day of the season.

The three sides are fighting hard while hoping Manchester City’s ban will be upheld so any of them can play in Europe’s elite tournament next term. If CAS upturns the UEFA ban, City will be cleared to play meaning only two sides can join since Liverpool already won the league.

Vardy, who refused to join the Gunners in 2016 after their shock title win, scored his 22nd goal of the season and his tenth against Arsenal. Leicester are keen on returning to the Champions League after three years out. Arsenal scored first through Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in the 21st minute but the red card to Eddie Nketiah in the 75th minute change the dynamics in favour of the visitors.

Vardy scored in the 84th minute to help Brendan Rodgers team get a massive point. They lost the third spot to Chelsea, but they are four points ahead of United. United face struggling Aston Villa side on Thursday. Victory would push them within a point of the Foxes.

Looking at the final four games, United have a good chance of usurping any of Chelsea or Leicester in the Top Four race. They host Southampton, visit Palace, host West Ham before the final game of the season at the King Power Stadium.Leicester would go away to Bournemouth, host ninth-placed Sheffield then go away to Spurs. This is before they host United. Chelsea will play Sheffield, host Norwich, take a trip to Anfield before hosting Wolves on the final day of the season.

The last four games will be thrilling! The CAS ruling on July 13 might also impact the motivation for the games.
