FELLAINI KEEPS REPAYING MOURINHO’S FAITH

Ever since Marouane Fellaini joined Manchester United in the summer raid of 2013 just after Alex Ferguson’s last season at the club, it is safe to say that till now, mixed and divided opinions is what you will get from United’s fans should a popularity sample be taken on the Belgian’s behalf.

This is a result of an equally divided performance of his for the past four years. By all means the Belgian do not fall short of what can be referred to as a fine player, leaving one to wonder just why and how, four years down the drain, the 29-year old had to hang on the thread bear of being a“Mourinho’sfavourite soldier” to sign an extension of his stay at old Trafford.

Fellaini’s problems started the moment he became forced to play as a defensive midfielder as opposed to his preferred attacking midfield position which he very well excels in without much stress.

Mourinho’sarrival have illuminated the Belgian’s importance which before now was seen as only the act of using his height to break and chest down David de Gea’s long passes, enabling United to control the swing of games.Under, Mou has him seen done more, given the coach’s love for physicality, something the former Everton midfield has in boundless proportions given his build. Hiddink on Drogba

Former Chelsea manager GuusHiddink has given valuable suggestions to former Chelsea and Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba.

The manager who has managed Chelsea in two different periods said that Didier Drogba is a great player and that he is always looking for input to improve himself.

He said that Drogba is a team player and that he was always looking to help the team and that he had to make changes in his playing style if he wanted to improve.

GuusHiddink said that Drogba was often dropping into midfield in order to win the ball and as a result, he was not putting enough pressure on the opposition defence.

Hiddink said that at that time Chelsea had players such as Obi Mikel, Ballack and Essien and that he did not have to drop back deeper.

The manager stated that he asked Drogba to keep his place and to wait for his teammates to pass the ball to him. He believes that this has improved the striker dramatically and that has helped him score more goals. Continue reading Hiddink on Drogba

Tigers supporters boycott the Cup Game

The KCOM Stadium might remain mostly empty during the next Cup game as the Tigers supporters have planned not to go and watch the encounter against Swansea.

The reason behind the plan is the dismissal of the head coach Mike Phelan who was told to leave last week.

The supporters are of the view that the owners first have to facilitate the coach in his work in every way possible and then only can they ask for an account of the performances from him.

In case of Phelan, he did not have a proper support staff, he did not have a big enough playing group, he did not have a truckload of money either to elongate the squad in just a week or two that was left in the window when he took over. So, what was the expectation from him in such condition?

It was already known that there would be loses in the first half of the season. In fact whichever game Hull has saved this season is a kind of a bonus because they have walked into each and every game being the underdogs. Continue reading Tigers supporters boycott the Cup Game

KEVIN BRU TALKS CLAIREFONTAINE EXPERIENCE

Kevin Bru has disclosed his experience at Clairefontaine and how it has shaped his career till date.

The Town midfielder recalled his time playing in his home country before his switch.

“It is a very, very good school for football. There were 1000 kids from Paris who had a test, a trial, and they picked only 23. I was one of them and I spent three years there, which was a very good time for me. In the French U19 team, I played with Etienne Capoue, who was with Tottenham and then moved to Watford this year. I also played with Bakary Sako, now with Crystal Palace after a time at Wolves, and Moussa Sissoko of Newcastle,” Bru said.

The Paris-born star was among the elite players that Clairefontaine academy, Le Centre Technique National Fernand Sastre, trained. The center has been a great launching pad for many of today’s top football French stars. Notable ones are Thierry Henry, Nicolas Anelka and Louis Saha. LA LIGA CLUBS WANT CAZORLA

Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has attracted a lot of interest from La Liga sides, according to reports.

Since Cazorla’s switch from Malaga in 2012, he has been a major contributor to the Gunner squad, but the La Liga seems to be keen on luring him back home. Spanish news source Fichajes, says that the 31-year old has many suitors in Spain as rumours regarding him not extending his stay in England start to filter.

Cazorla’s current deal at the Emirates is set to end in a couple of months, and many clubs are already getting set to acquire his services should he decide against a renewal. The report claims Valencia, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are happy to sign him if he returns to Spain. For now, it remains unclear if the Spain international will sign an extension in before June.

Last year, Cazorla could only force 15 games in an injury-plagued season. This term, he has been consistent and has been contributing to the squad’s performances so far. MAN UNITED LEGEND SAYS MOURINHO WILL MAKE FOOTBALL EXCITING AGAIN AT THE CLUB

Manchester United legend, Paul Scoles says Jose Mourinho will make football exciting again at the Premier League outfit.

Scoles insists that Mourinho will learn from Louis van Gaal’s experience and deliver exciting football should he become manager. After the sacking of LvG on Monday, two days after winning the FA Cup, talks to bring the former Chelsea tactician Mourinho to Old Trafford began and it has entered day two.  Paul Scholes joins another former player, David Beckham, in endorsing the coach. He said:

“The fans at Man United demand entertaining football and I’m sure Mourinho will come and try and give it.

Van Gaal led United to fifth place in the Premier League but was criticized for his lack of attacking football, with the team only scoring 49 league goals this season. Scholes, who won 11 league titles and two Champions Leagues during a 20-year successful career at Old Trafford, was among Van Gaal’s critics, claiming United were disjointed and played boring football under the 64-year-old. He also questioned whether the former Netherlands, Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss really understood the “ethos of the club.“The 41-year old retired player told BBC Surrey:

“I think Mourinho will have watched that closely and will have seen what happened.

“He’s a top manager, he’s proven that before and hopefully he can do that again.” Continue reading MAN UNITED LEGEND SAYS MOURINHO WILL MAKE FOOTBALL EXCITING AGAIN AT THE CLUB

Arsene Wenger is not the only one to be blamed according to Thierry Henry

Former Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has stated that Arsene Wenger is not the only person to be blamed for the failed title challenge.

Arsenal, who is 13 points behind Leicester City, are currently struggling to keep hold of the fourth place, and they may miss out on a Champions League place next season.

Henry believes that it is not only the manager that has to be blamed but also the players, the staffs and everyone associated with the team. He said that football is a team sport and that you win together, and you lose together.

According to him, there need to be changes in the team next season if they want to compete for the title. It would be difficult for them given that all the teams around them will be investing massively and that Arsenal will have to make investments too. Juan Mata has confirmed that he would like to see goalkeeper David de Gea to stay

Juan Mata has confirmed that he would like to see goalkeeper David de Gea to stay at Manchester United. The Spaniard has been linked with Real Madrid for several months now.

Since he is out of contract next summer, the Spanish club want to take advantage of the situation by signing him on a relatively low transfer fee. After having moved to Old Trafford for around £ 18 million, it is believed that United will be receiving only around £ 13 million for the goalkeeper. Personally, it is believed that the 24 year old wants to return to Madrid – the place where he grew up.

Even the fact that De Gea has come on the back of a stunning campaign with United is unlikely to convince him to stay at Old Trafford for longer. Madrid will offer much more possibilities of immediately winning trophies whereas United are still going through a transitional period after the departure of Ferguson almost 2 years ago. Ifde Gea does choose to leave England, he will be linking up with Rafa Benitez at Madrid for the first time. Mata says that the Spaniard has the ability to get the best out of any player.
